EL SALVADOR
Como Tú-
Roque Dalton

“YAY AREA.”
San Francisco was a time to get away, connect with one another, and share in our grief. As I sat in on a panel where therapists and counselors discussed healthy ways of grieving, one way that stuck out to me was to make new memories and experience new things. Being that I enjoy traveling, I decided that my mother, my sister, and I would be making a road trip up to San Francisco for the weekend. We made the trip about a month after my father’s passing as we began to live out this “new normal.”
Although we had lost a piece of our heart, I was grateful to be spending precious time with the ladies in my life. I am eternally grateful that rather than letting this tear apart our family, we allowed it to bring us closer to one another just like my dad would have wished.
Essentials
Of course I couldn’t make the trip without my camera in hand! Actually now that I think of it, let me go edit those photos!
Ok, one thing about me, I absolutely love exploring transportation systems in new cities. We ended up taking the bus and the classic SF trolley! Now the hills is what got me. As per usual, we walked for a majority of our time there. My sister now being a New Yorker, had a much easier time than I did. Boy, did those hills wear me out. I loved it!
During our time there we visited a few famous landmarks, (including locations where Princess Diaries was shot) art museums, and places with phenomenal views of the city. Not pictured is all the good eats and boba San Francisco had to offer.

“HERE I AM.”
There is nothing quite like being surrounded by God’s creation and enjoying time away from life in the city. This weekend I had the incredible opportunity to go to Joshua Tree with my young adult ministry, Impact. Here are a few photos.
Here Is Holy
In my alone time with the Lord, I began to read the story of Moses and the burning bush. As I read the story, I was reminded of Pastor Mike Todd’s sermon series Here Is Holy. In these precious moments I desired to be fully present as I was reminded that right where I am at is holy. The same way Moses acknowledged the presence of the Lord and made himself fully available was the same way in which I decided to approach this time. Here I am Lord, your servant is listening.

“WELCOME TO JAMROCK.”
Jamaica will always hold a special place in my heart. When traveling there are typically a few things I look for that elevates my experience. A few of those things include food, festivities, and people. Without a doubt, Jamaica easily surpassed my expectations. No matter where I went, I knew I was in for the time of my life.
Chey and Me
This selfie was taken in Montego Bay at a mini mart before heading out for the night. This is one of those photos that floods your mind with the joy of living life and experiencing it to the fullest.
Cheyenne was also the reason I was able to experience the island. For Christmas she decided that she would gift me and my best friend Amber tickets to Jamaica. Her generous heart is literally GOLD.
